Takeover #2 Nikki Kirpestein

My work does not belong to painting neither does it belong to photography. I look within the trench between painting and photography.
The base of my working method depicts dreams, memories that transform into a imprint within a painting or photograph. It is the story that has been told that is giving people images in their mind on how it looked like.
But the experience of something like it is the highest form of it al. To live.
I see paintings as an extract that is trying to perform this experience based story we tell ourselves.
Through interests on symbolism, dreams, stories and movement.
The translated symbolism of a dream is liberating and therefore important in a time of trapped reality within an increasingly influential virtual world.
