A group of Fine Art students from University of the Arts Utrecht (HKU) took on the incredibly challenging project of co-creating an exhibition as part of their study to become autonomous artists. Together with guiding curators and the help of KF Hein Fonds they worked on this since the beginning of the school year. The result was SINK IN, a student exhibition which showcased many different media and reflections.
It consisted of photographs, installations, sculptures, paintings, drawings and videos! There was no white cube setting for these artworks. Instead it flowed through a space of wooden structures and mirrors, which communicated the ‘flow in focus’ of SINK IN and played with perspectives and reflection.
The participating artists have worked individually on the artworks and had their own focus, so the works differed from inner reflections to reflections on society and current events.
SINK IN was on show from the 23rd until the 26th of January 2020 in De Havenloods, Utrecht.
